Minced pork stir fried with holy basil (Pad Kra Prao Moo)


100 g. chopped pork (any other meat can be used)

5 cloves of garlic

3-5 Thai chilies

1 cup holy basil

1 Spur chili, sliced

¼ cup long beans, cut into short pieces

1/4 small onion, diced

2 tbsp. cooking oil

1 egg (deep fried)


1 tsp. sugar
2 tsp. fish sauce
2 tsp. oyster sauce

1 tsp. dark soy sauce
2 tbsp. stock or water


  1. Cut the Thai chilies and garlic into small pieces
  2. Fry the garlic and chilies in a little vegetable oil over medium high heat until the garlic starts to turn golden
  3. Add pork and toss until it is no longer clumped together
  4. Add all seasonings, and continue cooking
  1. Remove from heat and stir in the holy basil. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed
